FY2026 EMPG Application Is Open
FEMA released the Fiscal Year 2026 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) on June 15, 2026.
The application window for the Montana's Emergency Management Performance Grant is: Monday, August 31, 2026 at 8:00 am to Friday, October 9, 2026 at 11:55 pm. Application resources can be found on the EMPG Resource page.
The Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) Program plays an important role in the implementation of the National Preparedness System by supporting the building, sustainment, and delivery of core capabilities essential to achieving the National Preparedness Goal of a secure and resilient Nation. The building, sustainment, and delivery of these core capabilities require the combined effort of the whole community, rather than the exclusive effort of a single organization or level of government. The EMPG Program's allowable costs support the efforts to build and sustain core capabilities across the Prevention, Protection, Mitigation, Response, and Recovery mission areas.
EMPG funding is available for County Emergency Management, Tribal Emergency Management, and certain State agencies with emergency management activities.
EMPG awards are awarded to local tribal and county jurisdictions on an annual basis.
